From Sydney, Australia some good ol rock. When I first heard I kept thinking of Led Zeppelin and The Mars Volta. Both of whom rock, and I’m talking about De-Loused in the Comatorium Mars Volta, not the latest album. (You could also throw At the Drive In in there, post on them later) Anyways, we are talking about Wolfmother. I like these guys for their music, but also all the gems in their bio like…
In their lives before Wolfmother, Myles worked in graphics, Chris in things digital and Andrew was a photographer so they all shared a passion for creative expression.
and also…
Chris, Andrew and Myles decamped to L.A. in May, 2005 and rented an abandoned Hollywood recording studio called Cherokee for their rehearsal space. In its heyday Cherokee hosted sessions like Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” but most of its equipment has since been sold or stolen. Even so, from this barren place came lush things as freeform jams evolved into fully formed songs.
Basically these guys are rockstars, and have been on top of my listen to list recently. If you are into rock, like what I consider real rock, give them a listen.
P.S, I seriously want a vinyl pressing and their website is great.
ALSO, they are playing at Cinespace in LA Tuesday Feb 14th at Tuesdays @ Cinespace. I’ll be there, come say Hi to me, I look like this and will be caring a camera around. Buy me a drink?

I enjoyed the site (seriously ) and I understand that perhaps at the moment self promotion is bad and may seem superficial, but nevertheless I cannot resist the temptation of inviting you over to my site to take a look at one thingie and to say what you think . Thanks in advance.

Ah yes, saw them at the Palladium, definately one of the best shows ever. I got to touch the bassist and guitarist and it was only like 23 bucks. These guys know how to rock. Oh and they covered Led Zeppelin’s “Communication Breakdown.” Pretty insane.

oh man i seriously love wolfmother. They’ve turned me on to an exciting Australian scene that I otherwise would not have known of; bands like Eskimo Joe are really awesome too. They’re up for this mtvU woodie and I’m really hoping that they win! Help me vote for them!:
