We Are Scientists – After Hours video

“After Hours” is the latest single off of We Are Scientists second full-length album – “Brain Thrust Mastery” which drops here in the U.S on Tuesday March 17. If you didn’t know W.A.S has been one of my favorite bands for awhile now. I can’t help it, sometimes it’s an addiction. The first time I heard the song it’s definitely W.A.S style, just a little more polished. You can definately tell they’ve learned alot from the exposure off their first album, “With Love and Squalor.”

As for this video, it is one of the many directed by Akiva of SNL Digital Short fame. Before that he, Jorma, and Andy made skits and music videos and posted on thelonelyisland.com. See all of Akiva’s music videos here.

Overall the video is good but I’m not as into it as previous videos such as Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt but it does have a hot chick in it and some fighting.

As for the record, I haven’t yet fully constructed my opinion and will be writing on that soon. What do you guys think?

Wow, quite the amazing video. Beautiful, mysterious and really complicated. Really well done for one of this years indie bands that blew up. It only fits, beautiful song has to have an equally beautiful video and that’s what this is.

Mark Ronson: Stop Me video + VERSION out today!

It seems as though I’m going a bit video crazy with the last three posts being videos but it’s all good. Mark Ronson videos are always awesome in so many ways. This song by the way is a cover of The Smiths “Stop Me If You Think You’ve Heard This One Before.” A good portion of the album is covers and some original stuff. I like some of these songs better than the originals. (please don’t hate me for saying that) Check out one of his other videos here.

Ronson’s new album Version hits stores today and you need to buy it. If you are into anything electronic/hip hop rock ish then you must get this. You could also listen to the whole album on his myspace right now if you want a little taste.

The Lovemakers Whine & Dine video

I’ve been a fan of The Lovemakers the moment I heard them. Last summer I was able to finally see them live and it was everytihng I thought and more. Of course the obvious shedding of clothes and everybody dancing alot. This video is fun but it’s missing one crucial element. Sorry Scott, I want Lisa in there. She needs to bring the usual sex appeal but hey I still like the video anyways. New EP Misery Loves Company out July 24, 2007.

New London Fire: Somewhere In Between video

New London Fire has had quite the year loosing their tour van to a storm and making the new album. They released last month the video for “Somewhere In Between.” Yes, it’s a bit creepy but I really like it. It’s unique, it’s art. I wish the rest of the band stayed in the song for longer. Towards the end is a sweet part of the song. Overall pretty sad but what would music be if people didn’t put it out there. Enjoy.

I have been obsessed with Digitalism for the past couple month eagerly awaiting the release of their cd. Well it’s been out and I finally have it. I’ll be honest, it hasn’t struck me as monkey balls amazing yet but it is quite amazing by my likes. Grows on me with every listen. A good portion of it is just hard electronica – you know the stuff you dance to in hip clubs. “Pogo” was of course the song that sucked me in. I’ve listened to that one song over 10 times in a row… while driving, fast. It made me do it. One of my countless weekend trips down to San Diego. Anyways, the video is awesome. It really inspired me as this song does all the time. Makes me want to go do stuff except here I am writing a blog entry. It’s all good.

I gotta give a thanks to Heather at Hell Ya! because it was on the mix cd she gave me that I first heard them. You are awesome.

Ken Powers: Bicycle video

The Cribs: Men’s Needs video

I dig The Cribs. For sure. I just haven’t been able to do any sharing with you on them. I felt this needed to be shared right now because it’s ridiculous and awesome. Awesome only because the video is, ridiculous because the video has been banned from MTV2 (before 9pm) deemed “too shocking.”

LAMMEEEEEE. Sure there is a naked chica running around but the violence for which it was banned doesn’t look real at all. Freaking cartoons are more gory than this video. Anyways, enjoy the video and catchy song.

The Cribs album Men’s Needs Women’s Needs hits stored July 17 and digitally May 22. (next week)
~~Is anybody a little confused on the title of the song and album? I’m no grammar or english expert but wouldn’t it read “Men is Needs Women is Needs.” Whatever. It’s cool nonetheless,~~ and I’m a jackass. 5/20/07 update YES! I was corrected, now everything in the world is right and I can go on trying to figure out other things.
