Normally today I might mention some new releases, yet today I’m not all that interested in any of them. Pretty slow release day in my opinion… except for maybe Ghostface Killah. All well, yet I did want to mention the release of the AFI I Heard a Voice DVD released today. It was filmed at their largest headlining show to date with 22 HD cameras which is pretty rediculous. I mention this because I was at that show, right to the left of the sound/camera booth on the floor. It was rediculous how many people were there and how over the top and huge it was. This DVD is packed with 72 minutes of live footage. Perfect for all you AFI fans. Give yourself a Christmas present.

There is actually a huge list of releases today – I only mentioned a few that I have been paying attention to. I don’t have a nice amazon link, Cities is releasing their Variations ep that is good. Head here for words and mp3′s.

Of course there has been enough of The Killers all over the place the last month +. Now it might be coming to a close. I must say from my first couple listens, Sam’s Town is no Hot Fuss, yet all new and all good.

Aberdeen City – The Freezing Atlantic
The funny thing about this album that I don’t understand – It came out in November 2005, as I wrote here. I’ve been listening to this album for a long time, and now they are getting all kinds of publicity, tours, attention and whatnot. That’s great for them, I just wonder what the change is. New album and tracks by The Futureheads! The track “Skip To The End” is quite catchy, and by catchy it’s stuck in my head. The Futureheads aren’t new to the UK (their home) or US soil, yet they are new to Startime / Vagrant records. I’ve been hearing/seeing the buzz for these guys the last couple weeks for their release of News and Tributes out on June 13. They have a pretty fat tour coming up, and wouldn’t you know it the Tapes N’ Tapes every music bloggers favorite band is on the bill. 3hive has alot more words than I do right now about the good ol Futureheads, read here.

This just in from the email press releases, new Muse album out July 11, 2006 on Warner Brothers Records. Should be an exciting summer album, I guess everybody will know when the single “Knights of Cydonia” comes out in a week or so. I loved Absolution and every so often listen again. They have a have a unique sound that could only be compared to artists like Radiohead and well any experimental rock with a harder sound.

I’m stoked on two releases today. One band, well I’ve liked for a long time, and then a band that I like very much but just started listening. That would be Taking Back Sunday and The Rakes. I’m a fan of both the old Taking Back Sunday with the singer who went to Straylight Run and then the new new stuff like the single MakeDamnSure. The music video for that song is awesome and I’m actually anxious to here more of the album. Then The Rakes are a UK band that I recently started listening to. Today their new albums come out and I say you should pick them up, either in store or jump onto iTunes music store or wherever you buy digital music.

If you didn’t already know, the latest from The Vines came out on Tuesday titled Vision Valley. With songs like “Don’t listen to the radio” playing all over, I don’t see how this couldn’t be a successful album for them. Personally I’ve only heard a few song but will be picking up the album soon to give it a listen. I remember seeing their music video for “Ride” on mtvU all the time in 2003, well actually it was CTV – college television or something like that then MTV bought them and we all died a little inside. Either way, from what I’ve heard off the new album, it rocks.

So I forgot to post up yesterday that The Sounds new album Dying to Say This to You came out. WAY GOOD ALBUM! Sorry for the shouting, but seriously I have been listening to this album and personally I like it more than Living In America. I don’t know what else to say that I already havn’t, it’s a great ablum get it as soon as you can! One thing I will say again, and continue to say… That is really sexy artwork.
