Fuck Experimental Duos

written by: randall

Ok, so I went to see my friends band play last night. Anyway I typically am pretty tolerant of opening bands, but sometimes they just drive you over the edge. When you go out in Silverlake, Echo Park, or Downtown it always seems like their is some fucking rediculous duo either with a girl and a dude. The guy always has semi long hair and the girl has some peasant looking skirt on. Then they play the same old hipster bullshit that sounds like the White Stripes, but not as good , but wait they added a synth effect in their band! That makes them different! You know exactly what I am talking about. I mean come on guys The White Stripes already happened plus Meg sucks at drums. Giant Drag did the opposite so that rules the other option out. Be a little bit more fucking orginal please. Why can’t people try and rip off Huey Lewis and the News or something. At least people would be entertained.

Music when you were 14

written by: randall

Ok I had an interesting discussion the other day. Most of us will admit we listened to LAME music when we were 14. I admit it, I was down with the Limp Bizcut and the Family Values Tour. I mean that was cool when you were 14, but you didn’t know better. Hey, but you still listened to come kick ass albums. Here are some of my favorite albums I still love today, that I aquired when I was about 14.

1. The Aquabats- The Fury of the Aquabats
2. The Specials- The Specials Singles Collection
3. Souls of Mischeif- 93 til Infinity
4. Dr. Dre- The Chronic
5. Sonic Youth- Sister
6. Nirvana- In Utero
7. Nirvana- Bleach
8. The Smashing Pumpkins- Siamese Dream
9. Rage Against The Machine- Evil Empire
10. The Breeders- Last Splash

Paris Hilton is so hot right now

written by: DAN

**note** I wrote this for weekend fun, yet due to a really awesome blackout at my apartment you get this post on Monday!

Paris Hilton

So Paris Hilton’s album SINGLE came out this past week, to say the least it’s utter garbage. Her single “stars are blind” has the most rediculous ragae beat, and her voice? How produced is that? The one thing that will sell this album pretty much just like any other pop star: HER BODY. Sure Lindsey Lohan has bigger boobs, Brittney Spears used to be hot, and well Cristina Aguilara just kinda lost her mind when she grew that weird hair awhile back. The point I’d like to make even thought I don’t know Paris Hilton except for what she tells the world, she uses her body; and well.

Just for fun, here is some crappy photoshop of the other three ladies that love to make albums: [click for larger version]

Brittney Lohan Aguilara

I thought the lyrics are amazing too, please read them all here.

My favorite line:
“‘Cause I don’t find too many guys
That treat me like you do.
Those other guys all wanna take me for a ride”

My Response to that last line:
AND HAVE.

Needless to say, these two songs on her profile will most likely be playing everywhere soon and “Turn It Up” in all the clubs. Get ready and go deaf early.

So just to be on top of things, Paris Hilton’s “Stars Are Blind” is my new myspace song.

p.s. This post I initially sent out as a myspace bulletin. Just so you all know, I love to look at Paris, just not listen.

Random Indie Rant

written by: randall

Ok WTF has happened to with indie music. Growing up since the age of 15 I always thought indie meant “independant” or in otherwords could not be classified. Now it is percieved as “vintage clothes” “shaggy hair” “A member of my band has a beard” “I have a synth in my band” “We have a girl in our band” “Echo Park is where all the muscians are” . LAME basically another trend is forming just like what happened with emo, punk, ska, grunge, before that cock rock.
