Many offices tend to select padded folding chairs. The sitting area and backs of these chairs are covered with vinyl upholstery. The added cushioning allows a more comfortable seat. The vinyl can be purchased in a variety of colors. This chair type tends to add a more sophisticated look to the room than standard or plastic does.
Occasional chairs, or as they there are sometimes called, exposed-wood chairs, are generally smaller than fully-upholstered chairs. Their frames are usually visible in a quality that is easy to discern even from a fair distance away. The usually have a solid feeling that results from the proper joining of frame parts, and they don't twist when you lift one corner.
Flexibility is exceptionally important when buying occasional chairs. The chairs, even when purchased for a specific space in a certain room, should give you the ability to move them to another room at a later stage. Chances are that you are not going to keep your room exactly the same for years to come, over time you will want to make a change.
Before you start shopping around you have to find where you want to place the occasional chair. Walk into the room and choose a focal point. If it's the bedroom then the bed is your focal point, in the living room it's your dining table and in your office it's your work desk.
