Kevin Devine

I made it out to the Hotel Cafe for Kevin Devine’s set last night. I had never really been to just an acoustic show like that before. It’s definately best to have a seat if you can grab one. Kevin played for just about an hour keeping the crowd entertaind with his goody stage banter as he called it. Including gabbering about his shoes he bought from payless that weren’t all that comfortable. The first 45 minutes solo on stage playing passionately written songs. Each song you can tell is a piece of his life that he shares with all of us. For the last 10 minutes or so, a couple friends came up and jumped on the drums and bass, then his brother(?) grabbed the extra mic for the last song. It was amazing, they all got into the music. Lots of energy and really a pleasure to watch. Overall I’m happy I headed out to see him and hopefully his album coming out soon will do well.
