A band that started from lyrics on the inside of a crackerjack box. That is just amazing. Especially since that was 8 years and 7 self released albums ago. Witty and awesome guys, oh yeah and the music is good too. The 7 members are Jon Eaton, Albert Birney, Nick Krill, Thomas Hughes, Jeffrey Hobson, Sam Hughes, Joey Hobson… yet only 6 pictured… are from Wilmington, Deleware. Nick Krill’s grandfather was Roy Spinto, who had written the lyrics on the inside cover of the cracker jack box. Seems appropriate they are named The Spinto Band.
Pitchfork gave Nice and Nicely Done (2005) a 7.3. I havn’t listened to the whole album yet the songs I have heard are good. Read Review Here.
Upcoming LA show: March 14, The Spinto Band, Army Navy, Minipop (9:00PM) @ Spaceland - 1717 Silver Lake Blvd.
