Currently on tour with Art Brut, Gil Mantera’s Party Dream is a nice wake up call for dance/rock music. Recently we have been plagued with a horrible trend of Joy Division rip offs, 15 year old boys wearing white belts and girls denim, and the horrible high hat shuffles of “disco punk” bands. Gil Mantera’s Party Dream is a refreshing change from all this. Their most recent release Bloodsongs is one of the best albums I have heard in a while. With it’s incredible melodies and catchy rhythms, this album is one you will keep playing for days straight. The 2 brothers from the midwest have an incredible amount of passion that will put any current dance/rock music to shame. They even have a christmas song on this album. AWESOME!!!
