I just recently picked up the People in Planes EP, and I really like it. Sure is like only four songs, but four good songs! Sometimes I’m reminded of the Red Hot Chili Peppers while listening, but overall they have a good sound. Recently there has been news all over on Joaquin Phoenix(you know, they guy who always plays the character you love to hate) directing the video for “If You Talk Too Much (My Head Will Explode).” I’m anxious to see how it turns out because the song is rad. Here is some more info on the video shoot.

Their upcoming album, As Far As The Eye Can See is due out Spring 2006 and looks to be a good one!

I havn’t really written about Morningwood as much as some people but I like them nontheless. There is a battle between Morningwood and We Are Scientists on who will get big and whatnot. As for me, I’ll about We Are Scientists, but also like Morningwood.

In the mood for a little electronica? I have been lately, and I really like Walter Meego. I’m a sucker for cool names and this is definately a cool name. Their experimental sound is just rad, reminds me of RJD2 and Thievery Corporation. Just rad music.

Hard-Fi Stars of CCTV

I’ve been rocking this album for a couple weeks or so and I really like it. Their single “Cash Machine” is way catchy and awesome, yet the rest of the album has goodies on it aswell. If you listen to the lyrics there are interesting stories laced throughout the songs. Overall a good album, I say give it a listen…

Some of you may have heard of this or maybe even already use it. Either way I thought I would bring it to your attention. Last.fm is basically, well a big music reccomendation / information / social networking site. There are actually alot of features to this free service, I’ll just throw down a few:

• Creating your own music profile through installing a plugin on you computer so Last.fm detects what you are listening to
• Because it knows what you are listening to, it can give you reccomendations… thus finding new music!
• Then all the rest of the find friends and listen to radio and whole bunch of other stuff

I’ve been using for a bit now, and the iTunes plugin installed easily and quick on my Mac… then after listening a couple days I was able to login and see some reccomendations for some new music. I say give it a try, I mean it’s free and fun!

Last.fm

This commercial is absolutely awesome. Some dancing, some cool music, and some beer. Some of it looks more like special effects than real dancing to me, either way… check it out!
